Help!!!!! Puppet eyes needed! Posted by lovable puppet pals on Feb 16, 2010
Hi guys...yes, I'm still alive! lol
I'm in desperate need for painted comic puppet eyes, such as the ones from Mercury Plastics.
First of all, is the minimum order from them still huge? And if it is, approximately how much does each pair cost?
Or, do any of you have other places to get these? I have the domes to make my own eyes, and I use those a lot,
but I really need to purchase the painted ones.
Thank in advance!

OK, here's another question...I'm sure it's on here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.
I see that many of you use the "animal" eyes, attached to a spoon or something. I'm wondering exactly how the process is done, and what size to get the animal eyes.
If you know of a specific thread for this, just direct me there.
Thanks!

It really depends on what you use as the base of the eye such as a spoon or such. I use a 15 or 16mm.

Re: Help!!!!! Puppet eyes needed! Posted by April Dawne on Feb 17, 2010
I use 20mm animal eyes in the spoons, and drill a hole the same size as the post into the spoon (after testing on the head to get proper placement) then I poke a hole through the fabric where the post sits and use the washer to hold the eye to the puppet. Then I turn or adjust the angle of the spoon until it's just right, and finish the attachment with hot glue. And I know that most plastic spoons are white, but the color can be inconsistent, so I spraypaint them with Krylon fusion for plastics in satin white so they aren't highly glossy or matte.
