I have only seen this kind of doll once, and was interested. Your web page is really fascinating.

I've seen the instructions for making these in one of my Christmas crafts books , but I haven't tried to make it yet.

Thank you - the page(s) are a work in progress - thanks to the web!! Many puppeteers, e.g. Punch & Judy professors, in the UK seem to have a jig doll too - as a kind of sideshow - many are used to attract an audience before the main event. The interesting issue is that there are so many patents for 'dancing men/toys/dolls/puppets' (all good search terms). Anyone interested in the development of puppets such as humanettes, Punch & Judy, etc., etc., could search the US http://www.google.com/patents?hl=en and UK http://v3.espacenet.com/ patents.

Congrats, you interested me enough to stroll over to Etsy, and get myself one of these little dolls. I guess I dream of the day when I can spend every day, sitting around in a park, play the hurdy-gurdy and dance with dolls.
