Ideas on a name Posted by April Dawne on Feb 20, 2010
Hi everyone I've got a new question for you all!
Since I now have people requesting puppets by me, I am considering a name and logo for myself for marketing. I was originally going to go with "Central Street Puppets" but now I'm not sure.... what does everyone think? Any suggestions for me? Anyone out there that can create a simple logo to go with that name?

Why don't you use your name from here knytpuppet
Re: Ideas on a name Posted by April Dawne on Feb 21, 2010
Yeah it would have to be KnytPuppet because Muppet is a registered trademark... but it isn't a terrible idea! Thanks, I hadn't thought of that ..... D'oh!

Why dont you use KnytPuppets?
Re: Ideas on a name Posted by April Dawne on Feb 21, 2010
I think I might do that... I was kind of wanting to use Central Street Puppets because it's kind of reminiscent of Sesame Street Workshop, and might be a more marketable name than KnytPuppet... still deciding! Thanks for the input though, I appreciate it!

Oh another reason for Central Street Puppets is because it's where I live, which would always remind me of where it all started.

I like the Central Street Puppets. A business name needs to be catchy, easy to spell and easy to remember. Short is also good. I really like the name I decided on but it can be a little long for Graphics, website etc. But you should go with what feels right. As I headed to the court house to register my DBA I had planned on another name, but wanting something a little more catchy. In the parking lot it came to me, "Out of the Box Puppets" and it just felt right. The more you say it, use it, print it....it will become more natural. You might think about doing a search on the internet to see what else comes up with either name or anything else you think about. Think about purchasing the domain name also. They are rather cheap even if you don't get a site built quickly.
As far as a logo http://puppetsandstuff.com/community/index.php?action=profile;u=1961 is a great designer. She created my logo as well as prints for some of my T-Shirts. http://www.outoftheboxpuppets.com/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=16. She is very, very reasonable. See does excellent work. I HIGHLY recommend her.
Thanks again for the business, Nate

I like Central Street Puppets. It's easier to relate to than the other name suggested. I was just thinking you could have a street sign as part of you logo. A bit perdictable I know but still cute.

I would affirm Julie's recommendation of Titere for a logo. Her work is first class all the way. I also resonated quickly to Central Street Puppets. It sounds like a good name to me.
