Speaking of contact cement, has anyone tried the "safer" non-toxic version of it, or the tube-style contact cement? I bought some Weldwood Contact Cement and once it's opened the smell sticks around for hours, so I don't even use it!

I've heard that the non-toxic kind doesn't work as well. Yes, the smell is horrible! I just have to open windows while I'm using it, and leave them open for a while afterward.
Thanks, Matt...I ended up using contact cement because I thought that's what it was, and it turned out good.

The "safer" non-toxic versions of Contact Cement well work fine. I stuck with the original for a long time simply because it was easier to get a hold of and seemed to set up faster. Just make sure that you let it set up good "dry" before you join your pieces. Actually Daryl uses the water based non-toxic version and uses a blow dryer to speed it's set up time.

Really? That's exciting! I will have to try that.

Thanks for the info Shawn I'll have to get ahold of some soon. The hot glue gun is too much of a pain when joining foam and doesn't seem as reliable, yet at the same time, it doesn't have the noxious fumes that will knock you out!
