I ordered F1845, as Dr. Puppet suggested.  I have not received it yet to give my opinion.

Thats the product I use. Michele at Puppet planet turned me on to them a few years ago. i have always been happy with the result.

Seems really expensive. I would love to hear feedback from people who have used it versus using other foam. For one sheet of 1/2" it will cost me over $25 (with shipping). For 1" it is $33.

I pay $9-11 at Hobby Lobby (with a 1/2 price coupon) for a twin size sheet of 1" foam. Joann's has high density 24" wide, 20 yards with shipping $81.

Houston has a place called The Foam Store. They have about anything you could want. It's been a long time since I ordered from them, so do not have current prices.

Hmmm, that doesn't sound right.   My order from http://www.bestwayfoam.com was for a sheet of 1/2" and a sheet of 1", and including the shipping it was only $35.
Are you sure you had the right place and kind of foam?

I just ordered some of that F1845 foam it was tagged with (puppet maker's choice) so I figured I'd give it a shot It was only around $15 with shipping for me.... where do you live MsPuppet?
Re: Polyfoam vs. reticulated foam Posted by Angel in Tx on Mar 13, 2010
I checked there too and one sheet of 1/2" that costs $7.10 is $18 for shipping, it didn't increase much more each time I added a sheet so I would need to order a lot to beat the 1/2 price coupons at Joann's and I can't spend that much at one time.  Oh, and the sheet they have is narrower (18") than what I get at Joann's (24") for about $13 total price. BTW I live in Tx.  I guess it really depends on where you live and how much foam you can order at one time.
Re: Polyfoam vs. reticulated foam Posted by lovable puppet pals on Mar 13, 2010
Yeah, it must be where you live.  For me, Joannes is $15 per yard of 1" foam!  So, it's way more, even though it's a little bit wider.  And Hancock Fabrics is $23 for a sheet of 72" long.  Yes, they have coupons, but it's also 1 hour away from me, so by the time I travel, it really eats up the cost of the savings.
I figured it out per square foot...you may like to do the same.  That way you know what the exact price is, since the measurements are different.

I usually do the per square foot thing too. Our Hancocks does not carry foam anymore. I used to buy the full size mattress sheets there for $18 (1").
I am in TX too.
I am having a problem finding 1/4 ", Joann's carries a very limited amount of it.  I am going to call the Foam Store Monday and see what I can get there. I bought it by 25 yard rolls before, but am totally out.

if I'm not mistaken, www.foamdistributing.com carries some of their foam in 1/4" but I could be wrong.
