New basic puppets just finished Posted by lovable puppet pals on Mar 09, 2010
Just got these puppets finished today!  They were ordered on Thursday of last week, and they needed them by Friday!    But I got them done!  Yahoo!
These people couldn't spend $100 or so for custom puppets, but they wanted something more than my very simple patterned puppet that I sell for $35...so...I made them the size of the custom ones, but cut back on the extras: no wired hands, no ball grip in mouth, no eye lids or lashes, etc.  I believe the price they wanted ($60 each) will work fine.  I finished them in 6 hours.
Let me know what you think about the price.

They turned out cute.  I think the price is good.  But that's just me.  I always undercharge.

Great job...simple & yet looks cute. I like the eyes very much.
I am sure your client will be happy with this order. Not able to comment
regarding the cost as these puppets are not sold here.

Great puppets, they could be distant relatives to some I have living in my house, lol.
As everyone knows, the way to know whether your price is right is too add up how much the materials cost, plus packaging and shipping if needed, then you add what you want to make in your profit. I'm always struggling with that because with my dolls especially everything is so itty bitty so it's hard to be disciplined, most of the time I round up the cost of materials very vaguely,  and hope for the best.
I think you costing is good, kinda, but how do you factor in the 'real' clothes your puppets are wearing. I guess things are much less expensive where you are. Right now i'm drafting my own clothes patterns for the various sizes of puppets I make, since kiddy sized clothes here are way too expensive.

I agree...that clothes are difficult to work in.  However, what I've been doing here, is going to used clothing/thrift stores.  We have one that only charges $1.25 per shirt, and they are or look brand new.
That's the only way I can afford to include the nice clothing.

Cute cute cute!!! They should be very pleased!!
BTW - aren't all second hand stores known for their "puppet clothing section!" I thought that is what they were meant for!

Back home in the Uk I always used to check out the charity shops, they don't really have much like that here. I'll have to ask around I guess.
