Any suggestions of where to buy puppets for kids? Posted by Mr Analogy on Mar 19, 2010
I did puppetry as a kid and I'm looking for some puppets to get my kids started. (We'll look into making puppets if they enjoy it and my wife can get some time on the sewing machine)
My primary criteria are:
* Articulated mouth (i.e., you put your hand in the mouth to move it)
* Would be *nice* to have the ability to create facial expressions with the hand. (Easier to do with a thin head like a Kermit, not so easy with a foam head)
* Variety of puppets (I think they may want animals instead of people, but we'll see).
Any suggestions?

Also don't forget Project Puppet if you want to find patterns to build them yourself. http://www.projectpuppet.com/ A couple of our members also have patterns. Na for one has a pattern for sell but she in in Australia so not sure if it cost more to get from her. She may be sending them electronically so it might be cost effective.
