Miguel, I just happened to see the right stuffed animal in a thrift shop, and said - that head is the right size, and the eyes look good, and there's room for a good mouthplate, and it will be light enough, and I liked the colors and texture of the fur- which is like furry fleece.
I just had to get the seam ripper and take out the seams where the mouth of the stuffed animal was, then use the seam ripper to take out the seam in the butt... then I made a sleeve out of spare cloth to put inside, and I removed a lot of the stuffing from the body, replacing it with a sheet of foam... then added the mouthplate to the cloth sleeve, and glued it all inside the mouth, and sewed the cloth sleeve into the butt seam.
It didn't take very long all together.
I have looked at stuffed animals before, but none of them ever looked like it was right for a puppet.
This one just looked like a puppet that hadn't been finished yet.
My 10 year old daughter puppeteered him with Harlin last night on BlogTV.

This remembers me about Yellie Yellie is my rabbit handpuppet. When my husband and I we're going out he noticed that I really loved handpuppets. A long time ago he received to stuffed rabbit in the shop he worked in. HE gave one to his sister and kept one for his love of his live he didn't knew then.
HE took that rabbit tear down the bottom seams so you can put your hand in. Yellie is very cute because you can move his four legs and head. He can really walk. Every body loves him.
Later this day I make a picture of him and post it.
He is white with blue feet so his name is Yellie from yellow because he is blue.
I have to say one of my most presuse puppets I have know
