Rosie
I have some of the clips. They are not very big, seems like it would take a bunch to cover a head.

yeah it would take several to get a "full" head of hair with the clips, but they are good for certain styles of puppets... if you look at my gallery, the Wimble (Fraggle-looking puppet) and Eddie both have hair-clip feather hair. I like them for the long wispy strands that float around as the puppet moves

KM, this is what I thought, that the different lengths ans wispy aspect make a great head of hair, you use it very economically too.

thanks for a girl puppet I would probably add some regular matching boa with the clip feather on top for fullness

My favorite stuff of all time to use is Ostrich feathers fringe....a bit pricey but boy it really adds movement to the puppet....I have a video (2 parts) on how to attach it and give you an idea of what it looks like.....

Hiya, Daryl, thought I'd replied to this already, anyway... I really like your method, yes yours is an expensive way, lol, I will use the same method at the top/crown of the head for the men and boys using feather boas, I just bought a ton of upholstery fringe too, made from cotton, so I can dye to various shades, and cover the complete head.

Just an update on hair choices I've made and purchased...
I got a great deal on 62 yards of marabou boa, in lots of colors... for $40!! They are on their way to me
And I also bought some, well a lot actually, 100 plus yds of 1.5 ins cotton fringe, that was $46. Figured I could dye it various colors since it's 100% cotton.
Gonna have some fun with this!
