Not sure if this was ever posted before here, but have a look! It is amazing movement. Does anyone know where I can find information about these types of puppets? Or how they are built? The arm movement really captures my attention. I want to know more!!!

I've never seen this puppeteer or the style of puppetry before. Very nice.  I did do a bit of research via Youtube and Google and I think the puppeteer is Hungarian puppeteer Andras Lenart.  Here is another video on Youtube.

That is where I found the puppeteers name.  Then I Googled and although I did not find a website for the puppeteer I did see mention of him on a couple sites.

This first page says it is a style created by him.  It is almost a cross between a marionette and a rod puppet.

This second link is to a page of reviews and his show review is the second on on the page. Here is a short quote form that review.

Lenart presented a double-bill of wordless short works that showcased the puppeteer’s unique creations—eight inch figures controlled from behind by curved hand rods (modelled on wayang kulit), strings (à la marionettes) and a tube of the sort used in Vietnamese water puppets that facilitates subtle head movements.

I had found his name also. I just wish there was more detail on the movement. The are controls, left and right, appear to be connected in his hand. But they must also twist with his fingers.

Your welcome. Check out our blog for an even clearer video of his puppets. I found one that was done in all black with mainly just the stage, puppet and his hands visable. I find the it even easier to study the workings of these puppets.
