Hello! Posted by Gizzy on Apr 21, 2010
Hello,    This is Gizzy! Gizzy is my actually second puppet I made!

I made it from the link in this web, blueboy pattern, needed to modify a bit cos mouth didn't match!
Now she is almost perfect, poorly sewn by me-has one twisted arm
My first one, I followed the video tutorial. He said that to put the eyes in the end and put them as if she/he is looking at you -- and this is a magic! It really works! Now they got so much character!!

I'm not professional puppeteer, I wanted to make it for fun. So i made it with something I can get in the area.
so no foam inside -but perhaps I could have used washing sponge!

I created them to use for my cooking blog. I just thought it would be fun to let puppet cook not by me!! (I'm crap chef anyway!) Well it's of course not as good as Sesame street, cos mine is still images.

Anyway, I posted on Puppet Project as well, but if you like cooking and want to show off your lovely puppet, please feel free to upload your pictures (and please give some basic recipe structure) to my blog, please!

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff...................... I Love your concept. Since I am a retired Chef I have a few recipes and am always inventing new ones. My problem is I forget to write them down. What type recipes are you interested in. I Love the Food Network http://www.foodnetwork.com

Hello Billy D!

Sound great! My first thought was I can't cook well, but I can always say it's not perfect cos done by fluffy puppet hands! But since we put up on the web, we try to do perfect-ish!

Our recipe is very mixed. I'm Japanese so I try to do oriental dishes. But I visit my friend's houses with Gizzy to learn the dishes from different countries. Cos it's more fun and interesting!!
We sometimes do all the measurement later cos we don't know how much we need... So if you get a chance to cook with one your puppets, please feel free to do any dish you fancy!! We take quite a lot of pictures in stages, but it's not necessary, I just think it's fun puppet mixing, cutting etc.

Thanks for the link for the recipe. I have a look and see if there is something I can do!!

Gizzy,
You should mark in your Profile that you are from Japan!  That way your flag well show up on your post and profile.   You could also fill out some of the other things there if you want.

Hi Gizzy, Nice cooking website. I like all the photos of the puppets cooking up the recipes. Artichoke is a fantastic puppet. You have captured a great character in him.

Did you have any videos? or did I just miss them? If not, that would be really neat, even if a human hand enters the frame and helps with the preparation.
I see these being a very " Family " and I could see the whole family making dinner to your puppets directions.

Keep it up

Friends,
Sonny

Hello Shawn!

I'm from Tokyo, but I'm currently based in UK so I got UK flag... I wish I could have 2 flags :D
I don't have myspace/msn etc... but we do facebook group!
And thank you for pointing out the video! so far all the video recipes are with Artichoke and I'm supposed to write restaurant review that I did with him too!!

Hi Sonny!
Well, we are talking about doing filming but hasn't happened yet.
As you said I was thinking we would be needing some kind of plot so that we can film smoothly and it will help to hide my arm... I already asked my friend who is good at cooking and editing if I can come along and she agreed to do it, so hopefully soon we can do more videos!

I guess I need a way to add in a selection for languages spoken that shows the flags or maybe a birth country.   Now that I actually have a facebook account I should look at adding that as an entry in the profile.  Actually there a quite a few things I want to add but waiting some on some upgrades of the forum software to go into stable versions. This has been in the works for over a year now but you just can't rush things like this.
