Puppets of Rajasthan Posted by MissElly on Apr 21, 2010
Hi all,
This is something I want to share. I don't know if this is the right topic for it.

This february we visited India and among the amazing things of this country I took some videos of a puppet show at a theatre in Udaipur, Rajasthan state.
Here is a funny one.

I am adding another one. What surprised me in India was the fact that puppet shows don't tell a story, no scripts; it's either music or self explained.

tell me what you think.

Very cool puppets!  This is the style of shows we preformed when I worked with La Famille Marionettes.  No actual dialogue just music and short vignettes. I really love this type of puppetry because I think it breaks down language barriers. You can see the story through the music and action of the puppets. Thanks for sharing your videos with us.
