Thanks Shawn, that chart makes very interesting reading. While the American Girl doll is a hefty 18" tall (9" to her waist only), her waist is positively 'wasp-like', a mere 11" compare to my girls and guys that are 18" and 20"  , this helps with the eyeballing and pattern measuring I thought i would have to do, now i can make the size changes with the help of the chart, thanks again!

I think that with proposter you can change width and fix tall; this could work to refit clothes from dolls to puppets.

And no, I am not a sales representative of proposter ha ha; but I have used it to resize kites and was very useful
