Good morning,
Ros (real name)... puppeteer beginner.  Just finished one year basic course in puppet making.
Loved it.  Will be registering for course two soon.  I am a high school English teacher (ESL) in
Israel and got into puppetry after taking a storytelling course.  I love it.  This year I worked with
young kids who didn't know any English.  I made basic sock puppets with them as well as working
on English through songs and drama.  The highlights were the lessons when I took my puppets in
to have a conversation with them.
I want to work with older kids....is that possible?  and do more with the puppets.
That's it for now.
Ros

I bet they remembered the things you taught with the puppets better than any of the other things too! Using the puppets to practice their English is a great idea! They are teaching their puppets to speak English (while learning themselves!!)
Thanks for sharing!! We look forward to hearing more and of course you can use puppetry with the older kids as well!

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff.  Did you take the course in puppetry in Israel?  I think that puppetry can be used with older children.  I know that most folks might think that a sock puppet is for kids but believe it or not even adults get into them.
