half finished puppet Posted by Cody on Jun 24, 2010
I had an idea for a blinking puppet so I got my mom to drive me to pick up supplies and I made the head in an hour. The problem is I want him to be just a head but I dont want it to just stop. Any ideas? I want to be able to make jokes with him about him not having a body but he cant be a floating head it just loses intrest in my mind. I added pics mabey that will spark an idea. And also he doesnt have a name yet so if you think of anything dont hesitate to respond

So yo don't like making the body of puppets.... right? I noticed that three of your pictures in the Gallery are just the head really. Just kidding with you.
I waited till I read the rest of the new post to answer this so I could think about it. Really the only thing I could come up with a head on a silver platter, but what is wrong with a floating head? I think that could actually be pretty funny if you joking around. Boy what an air head.... get your head out of the clouds.

Cody,
You are doing a really great job. Since comedy is not my strong suit I don't have any idea's for you. My only thoughts would be to give him a short neck, so it doesn't have the appearance of a furry floating head. Not as if that's a bad idea....I think like Shawn said there are possibilities there also. Give him some time to grow a personality...a name. Write him a life story so you can develop character. What makes him happy, sad, mad. What are his ticks....basically who is he? Then the jokes will come.

thanks so much and Shawn I like the idea or the head on a silver platter. You are correct making the body isnt my favorite part I normally just hold back on it and decide to do it in the future but this guy I'm just gonna leave the head. I'll see what I can do and the head on a silver platter gave me an idea of having a fake arm for him to "sit" on. If the platter doesnt work out I can fall back on the fake arm. Thanks for all the ideas.
@Julie I created a charecter for him but i haven't created a name or life story. I know I want him to be the grumpy type that gets angry all the time but has a few happy moments. reason being he says he has no heart so he doesnt care. He is going to constantly torment me and say I have about as much of a life as he has a body. I am going to work on aa rig so twords the ending of my show I will put him back in the case and suddenly the case is going to fly open he will peak over and yell "look I found a body but guess what, you still have no life" so he isnt going to be very friendly
thanks again for the comments guys
