Not too long ago I bought a girl wig from a toy store, to use as a punkrocker's hair. I like how the haircut looks, it fits for the character. Unfortunately, the haircolor isn't what I had in mind, the wig is blond while the concept for the puppet to have neonish pink. Do you think that I could use a regular haircolor-spray or should I use something else for it, like dye or something?

Believe it or not Rit dye works.................................. My Mom years ago worked in a wig shop and dyed boxes of blonde wigs black. They turned out great....You may have to leave it in the dye bath a little longer than you would fabric.

The hair color spray would work fine on it.  I think Billy's idea of Rit dye is also depending on the type of synthetic fiber they used for the wig. The dye may last longer for you. You could start with the Rit dye first and if it did not give you a vivid enough pink add the hair color spray after.

How many hours would that take?

Not long.................. just heat some water not boiling just enough to incorporate the dye and dissolve the powder. I would let the water cool to a warm almost cool temp before putting the synthetic hair into it. Then submerge the hair into the dye bath , the longer it stays the darker the color will be. I would say check it every 30 minutes until the desired shade.
