pellon Fusible fleece Posted by Cody on Jul 08, 2010
Hi guys I found out what I had found was pellon fusible fleece when you iron it it glues itself to what you iron it to. I got the thickest available and used it in a puppet I made with my own pattern I made by combining a few other patterns I've seen and the pellon works pretty goodyou can still see the seams(a little bit) but on my charecter it works out very well I would recomend it to anyone looking to make a puppet with seams that are supposed to be seen or seams that act as "separator lines" I also did get my sewing machine and used it on this puppet and I must say it worked very wel on this puppet I am glad I invested in one. I will post pics either tonight or asap

So did you fuse the fleece to the foam? I am curious how you used it.

The only foam I used was craft foam for the mouthplate everything else is just material. I am also making a brother ofthe cute and adorable puppet I made and he will be ugly and poorly made on purpose haha they both fit like socks.

I've never used fusible anything, so I could be offbase here, but with anything affected by heat you should be careful with it. No leaving it in the car, for example! I use a lot of hot glue, so I'm careful with that. Of course most things like that won't melt/fuse/whatever in a hot car, but they might shift or deform a bit. Just something to keep in mind. Hope to see pics of your puppets!

Most of you blanket fleeces whether regular or polar fleece you can use for puppets. The stuff you used was a very economical way to make a prototype............ If you watch the fabric stores they run these fleece fabrics 50% off during the summer getting ready for winter stock.
