Hancock Sale - Can you help me choose some colors? Posted by Rosie H on Jul 15, 2010
Hi all, I need to buy some more fleece. I have ethnic colors (shades of Rosie lol) in bulk already which are great, I also have a dark red and a dark green and a vanilla in bulk (i had bought those for my dolls for some christmas designs I was working on).
I've never been sure about skin colors that aren't actual skin tones ie caucasian, african american/caribbean, and everything inbetween.
So I really need some advise on off beat colors, I've seen other people using all kinds of colors which look great, but I'm really nervous about buying.
Help me! I need about 4 color choices.
Here's a link to all the colors they have on sale right now, if that helps. Thanks.

So are you wanting "real" skin shades or are you looking for fantasy colors? I was a bit confused by post.
I think Doe and Maize could both be used as Caucasian colors. I like Crimson, Team Purple and Fuchsia as fantasy colors.

If you want to make your puppets in a less human likeness use bright fantasy colors like Shawn suggested.

Yes, Shawn, I'm trying to be more adventurous and not use regular skin shades. I'll check out those colors.
Thanks Billy, not sure why this makes me so nervous.

Even tho they scare me, I'm making myself believe that if they look good on other ppls puppets they'll look nice on mine... right?

Hey Jovack! A fellow brit! Didn't realize. Don't pay any mind to my Barbados flag, I'm born a born and raised Leicester girl, who's living in the caribbean, lol.
So far I'm definitely thinking towards a purple and a gold.
Also, which green is nearest to a kermit green?

Kermits green, I would say that it would be a toss up between the Anti-pill Lime or the regular lime green solid fleece.
I really think just about any of the colors could look good in a puppet. What are your favorite colors? What do match with other colors in your apparel. It is how you mix and match things I think that makes or breaks a puppet. For example looking at your avatar picture you have on a purple top with lavender accent. Those colors look really good together so a puppet in that color scheme would look good also.

I think i'm getting it now shawn, (the jacket is plum and the scarf and choker are kind pinkish) it's more about color coordinating.
@Jovack, Leicester is actually in the east midlands, near coventry and birmingham and nottingham. So no, i don't have a jordy accent, lol. Where are you from? I've been in Barbados for 16 years now, I go back home occasionally. I really miss home at this time of year too
