Hello! My name is Alissa Barvina, and I am a student from VA, USA.  I'm new here, and new to puppetry, though I've been fascinated by puppets for as long as I can remember. Something about breaking the boundaries between animate and inanimate objects is magical. I have much to learn about puppetry, but I am finding this learning a joy rather than a chore. I recently completed my first puppet (a marionette: unwise of me, I know,) and it was one of the most beautiful things that I have ever experienced: to see the puppet come alive in my hands. Anyways, I hope to get to know the people on this message board, and their puppets and to share knowledge. There are no people around me (especially people my own age) that share my love of puppetry, and it will be wonderful to finally be able to discuss it with others that share the interest.
