Orange in the Logo Posted by Pdyx on Jul 21, 2010
Hey all, you can see my logo next to my name here.  Only problem with it has been that the orange isn't discernable (looks very red).  I realized that the computer I designed it on had it's monitor settings out of whack a bit.  It was really easy to see differences in darker colors but not so much lighter colors.  I noticed that the orange that looked so different and bright and vivid on that computer looked plain red everywhere else.

So I've adjusted it.

Which of these do you think looks more "orange."  What's important to me is that the orange looks different than the red and is similarly bright and vivid to the other colors (flows well with them).  If you don't think either, then let me know and I'll try different shades of orange.  I know every monitor is different and I'll never get a perfect orange on everyone's screen, but I'm going for a general feel here.

Thanks!

ON my monitor orange 2 was a better color and the other colors, primarily the blue had more definition. I liked the contrast and detail of this one the best.

I agree the second one has a richer orange the the first one that looks a bit on the peach side.  I don't see as much difference in the other colors though.

I agree the second has a better orange color and is better all the way around!

Second for me........................ Just a suggestion.............. could you let the yellow swirl into the bottom of the red and orange just a bit to kind of separate the colors................ like you did next to the blue.

I'm not sure I fully understand, and I know it's hard to communicate this in writing, but can you clarify what you mean?  I think you might be on to something, but I'm not sure I follow.

Thanks everyone for your opinion!  It's helping!  Most people here (and elsewhere) tell me that the first one appears too peachy and the second one looks better.

I'm not sure how to say it myself............ except where you have black between the red and orange............. at the bottom could the yellow swirl up just a little at the base between the red and orange into the black. Would this compliment the two colors. Not sure if it would look better just a suggestion.
Would the word.......wrap around the base of the orange color sound better than swirl................ you have just a faint line of yellow already entering the area between the two colors. I just thought the yellow would make the orange pop out a bit more........... since red and yellow make orange.

Thanks for saying that, and I think I get it (and I had an idea of what you were talking about but wanted to be sure).

I may yet tweak it more, but here's what I've done taking both everyone's preference for the orange color and Billy's suggestion:
