Something I've been working on for the past few months - the articles, tutorials, and patterns on my site have been so popular, I'm giving it all its own website. www.schoolofpuppetry.com.au will be completely dedicated to explaining the ins and outs of puppetry. It's got a completely new look, there'll be lots more content, it's easier to use, and I'm looking forward to launching it in a couple of weeks.

With the new site, I'm offering very cheap advertising to puppet-related businesses. As a special offer to P&S members, I'm giving away the ad spots for 3 months FOR FREE to anyone here who is interested. If you're wondering whether it's worth it or not: over the past 6 months, I've had an average of 20 000 page loads (ie. 20 000 chances to have your ad seen), with about 8 500 people viewing the site, and 300 new people visiting... PER MONTH. ... And er, that's actually only been limited by my web hosting; with more bandwidth, the numbers can be pushed higher very easily.

There are four ad spots, and I'm doing the giveaway both because I want to fill the space during the transition to the new site; and because I want to give something back to the great members here.

(Please note: I'm still working on the site, so if it looks funny or doesn't quite work, please be patient  )

PS. It doesn't have to be a puppet business. If you've got a site, blog, videos, whatever, consider using the ad space. It's free publicity for anything puppet-related, so you can promote whatever you're working on.

Oh, before replying properly, I should have mentioned: it's a first come, first served thing. Otherwise I'd have to pick and choose if too many people want it.

Sure, but just keep in mind that the site isn't launched yet, so if you put it on ebay this week the ad won't go up until I've finished the site.

Hey, it's the least I can do. Everyone here - and the puppetry community in general - has been willing to share and chat far above what most people would expect. I've learned a lot because people spent their time and effort helping; so this is a little back.

Just a note to say that Matt (Puppet-mart) has requested an ad; so there's only three ads left.

Yeah it occured to me when designing this new site that advertising would be a good idea. I get a LOT of people visiting from other countries and asking where to get this or find that, and I have no idea who to send them to. There are plenty of companies out there who would get good publicity, and in exchange I get a little bit more money to help pay for the site.
