A question about the alternate body pattern from Project Puppet does it come with a pattern for the arms and hands?
Thanks
Thanks

No it doesn't come with patterns for arms and hands, all the simple series patterns have arms/hands included, you just use them (I usually stretch the arms to about 12" however, as I think their arms are way too short) and the legs/feet are a separate pattern that is available (I pretty much do the same with the legs so they match the arms). Someone here, I forget who, made their own foot pattern for the simple series, so you may not have to buy it, also there are those here who have their own foam body patterns that you could just cover in fleece and save money that way.
The girl puppet (Katie) was made with a torso pattern I got here, and Eddie was made with a torso I created myself.

im a little confused, are you saying the arm/hand patterns come with the roly/pinhead/melonhead patterns? thanks for the tip on the length also.
Re: Alternate Body Posted by April Dawne on Aug 05, 2010
Yes, all the simple series puppets, The Glorified Sock Puppet, The Roly Puppet, The Pinhead Puppet, and the Melon Head Puppet ALL come with the same body sleeve pattern, AND hand/arm pattern, so you are really only paying all that money for the head itself, since once you have bought one, you have two-thirds of the pattern for the rest. If I had realized this sooner, I would have only purchased the Sock pattern and Roly pattern, then just modified each to get what I wanted.
I also have the Rotundo pattern, along with the fleece head covering pattern, but haven't used it yet as it is quite a bit more complicated than the Simple Series puppets, and I don't want to ruin or waste good materials when I'm really still perfecting my techniques.

Oh have fun with building a Kermit, each build will help you get better.
But yes, do a search on here and I'm sure you'll find lots of free patterns, one might be just what you need :D

Re: Alternate Body Posted by April Dawne on Aug 05, 2010
the alternate body pattern is somewhat similar but not the same as Kermits body, if you compare his body close-up with the shape of the alternate body pattern. It would likely look just fine, however. Bring the snout of the glorified sock puppet pattern to a little more of a point, make the floppy arms and legs, the neck trim, and voila! =]
