We paid for it, it's free for all the guilds in the region to use.  We are hoping to have one central location that shows all the events in the region. 

Actually, please join even if you aren't in the region because, you never know when you might be traveling to the Pacific Northwest and might want to catch an event.  Also, you might want to have a look to perhaps build one for your area.  It costs nothing to join.
