Puppet Theaters to Visit Posted by MsPuppet on Aug 10, 2010
Somehow, in all our trips to CO I've missed two puppet theaters. A friend recommended them to me last week.

1. Simpich Puppet Theatre in Colorado City
2. Denver Puppet Theater

I know there is one in Atlanta as well.

Can we compile a list of things to see and do that are puppetry related?  We took in a puppet show in Vegas a few years back that was excellent.  Would love to be able to visit some of these places as we travel.

I can recommend the Centre of Puppetry in Atlanta. Great place, permanent Jim Henson exhibition, a small theatre, a shop, and lots of rooms for workshops (even a green screen room/filming room I believe).

In Independence Mo (a suburb of Kansas City Mo) there is the Puppetry Arts Institute. While it sounds like a school it's main focus is it's museum.  They do workshops and shows from time to time.

In California Bob Baker Marionette Theatre is a great little find....the history of the theatre is great to hear....as well if you ask they will give you a back stage tour of all the puppets and everything.

When traveling to Paris France, be sure to visit the tiny puppet theater in le Jardin du Luxembourg.  I stumbled upon it last year while walking to the Sorbonne.  The entire Luxembourg Garden is simply breath taking.

And if you ever make it to Singapore, I hope you all will visit my little theater....but don't rush because I am still on the hunt for the perfect space/location.
