Hey guys once you enter don't forget to post an image here and let use know so we can vote!  It would be cool if PP had a way we could embed all the entries here.

that would be cool! to bad you can't vote for entries in the kids contest, its just one judge rite?
Re: is anyone entering project puppet contest? Posted by Shawn on Aug 28, 2010
Yep the kids contest is judged by a single judge. Not sure why they decided to do that. Could be they wanted to keep things simple since this was the first year they are doing that.  Don't worry though, you'll get plenty of feedback from every here once you submit your puppet.

Well, I got an email response saying that making a removable costume with the pattern as a base, but with built up anatomy is okay. So, looks like I will be doing a superhero.

Vampire Wombat, im confused :/ are you saying there's a pattern you can use for a costume? and what does it mean to build up anatomy?
Re: is anyone entering project puppet contest? Posted by Shawn on Aug 28, 2010
Anatomy would be muscles in this case I think. If I understand VW correctly he well build that into the costume instead of the puppet body itself.  Not sure why unless part of the contest is that you can't alter the original body pattern.  Maybe I did not read the rules well enough.

Shawn is mostly correct. And there are a few reasons for it. 1 is that the method I'll be using means it will be easier to make the costume separate. 2 is that I want him to have a "secret identity" which is much easier to do with the costume being removable and his "normal" clothes either being built in or removable too. And 3, because what I'll be making the costume out of is something I wouldn't really want against my arm.

Now you have really peaked my interest.  A secret identity!     Can't wait to see it.

from what i understand is that you can only alter the arms and hands according to the the contest rules, as far as i undrstand them. of course i can be mistaken!
