im alittle late but i think he is awsome! do his eyes blink? it kinda looks like it.
Thanks.
No, they don't blink. It's awfully crowded inside his skull. The eye blink that I know of right now wouldn't fit in there, but I'm working on a cable controlled blinking system that will hopefully be put into future versions of him.
I'm going to be making "Yeti, Sr" tomorrow or the next day. It's going to be my first live arm puppet. Should be fun.

I love the gleam in his eyes, it may be from the flash but that little spark looks fantastic and gives him a cheeky look.

Here's the finished Yeti, Jr.
It's actually the third one that I made, but the first one that I completed to the condition that I would want one in.
I ended up using charcoal colored fleece for the underside of his arms. His hands were really difficult to see, especially the fingers, when both sides of the arm were done with fur. The fleece breaks up the fur a bit and gives him a bit more definition than having him entirely done in the same color fur. The arms also had to be attached with doll joints. I tried to sew them on several times, but every time I broke a needle on my sewing machine, and hand sewing them wasn't coming out any better either. The doll joints worked perfectly, though, so that isn't much of an issue.
I really like the way he turned out. I wish I could have added eye blinks to him, but maybe one day. I have enough of that fur to do probably three or four more Yeti, Jr characters...and I will be looking for more whenever I can find it.
I still haven't decided if I want to do anything else on his face. I MAY add a nose or another color mustache like was suggested, but I like him quite a bit just like he is, so it will probably just stay the same.

he turned out wonderfully! i absolutely love it, very well done did you follow some kind of pattern for the head?
and you used doll joints for the arms? is that a normal thing that people do?

His head is a Melon Head slightly modified.
As for the doll joints...I'm not sure, but they worked wonderfully so I will be trying them on some of my other puppets that are a bit difficult to get the arms on.

I use doll joints for the arms of my puppets all the time. I love the ease with which they attach and I like the look much better than sewing, especially with fur.

oh really? how do they work?
Re: Yeti, Jr...My New Character... Posted by Gimpdiggity on Sep 03, 2010
They go into the arm and another part goes into the body. You cut a couple of tiny holes then the post that it's in the arm or body goes into some plastic lock washers that are in the other side.

hmm, that kinda makes sense and they don't limit the movement of the arms at all?
