100 years ago, Fritz Herbert Bross Posted by Helmut Schmidt on Aug 29, 2010
On the occasion of the 100th Birthday of Fritz Herbert  Bross, if he were still alive, will be held in Bad Kreuznach an exhibition:
100 years ago, Herbert Fritz Bross was born. He has since the 50s, the German puppet profoundly influenced, modified, modernized. He made a comparison of the puppet to the player alive, sensitive.

1805 Heinrich von Kleist wrote his almost utopian to-read essay "On the Marionette Theater." Even after he had published in 1810, finally, this essay has barely received. Only in the 20th Century began a broader intellectual interest in Kleist's thoughts on dance and movement awareness to gravity and pendulum. Inspired by this essay, Fritz Bross Herbert questioned the possibility of the movements of a marionette, studied, developed. How to connect areas, colors, light, graceful movements to be unforgettable?

Bross has tested his research and knowledge of Germany in countless courses with different levels of difficulty and
passed. This excellent combination of research and teaching is described in our issue of different students. His most famous pupil Albrecht Roser could Bross' findings not only continue, he has also published in international seminars. Because of Bross itself, there is little written statements to his own work.
With the exhibition of 100 pieces from the great artistic works of the 50s to the 70s will bring the PuK Museum of Puppet Culture in Bad Kreuznach Herbert Fritz Bross a contemporary audience. And is this accompanying publication of interviews, memories and many, some previously unpublished photos a glimpse into the life work of one of Germany's most important 20th Figurenbildner Century.

This is really exciting!  I would love a copy of this publication.  Will there be an English edition, or will I have to learn German?
