My New Project! Posted by frankiel on Sep 23, 2010
I have decided to adapt the Roly pattern from Project puppet!

I really dislike taking risks as i always want the end product to look good! But then again to be creative you need to take risks!

I have stuck a piece of foam around the lips to make them more defined. I am hoping to include eyes that blink at the top of the head but i'm not to sure yet! i seriously messed up covering the lips on the top. As the picture shows im currently experimenting possible ways of hiding the mistakes! but i learnt as i went along and the bottom turned out far better!!

I also think the teeth are too large! but i'm hoping once the puppet is finished it will look far more normal.

She is going to be a monster that i am making for my friends birthday so bright colours and BIG features!!

You may be able to hide the "boo boo" on the upper lip with what ever you are going to cover the puppet in. If it is a monster then fur is a possibility and it covers a multitude of sins.   I think the teeth are fun!

So i finished this puppet the other day! I gave it to my friend for her 21st! I gave it to her in one of my lectures for literacy and my tutor loved it and we had a discussion about the use of puppets so it was really cool!  Sadly this will be my last puppet for quite some time! The joys of a dissertation and various other assignments but it will all be worth it!

Looking good!!! He has quite a lot of character and personality! Hope you will be able to make some more even if you are busy!  Maybe a little therapy to distract you from all your other responsibilities!

Ha ha I'm sure i will! start of term everyone is always like 'i'm only going to be doing research 24/7' im sure within the next week that attitude will change ha ha! I do have a project for my specialism which will allow me to create a puppet! just trying to link it to the curriculum and teachers needs!

Thanks for your positive feedback!
