Great puppet!  I love the eyes.

Thanks!  The eyes are off a cheap carnival stuffed animal.  I wish I would have saved all those cheap stuffed animals, who knew someday I would have a use for them.

This is my second puppet.  Not finished.  I used the bias tape suggestion from Billy (THANKS!)

It worked perfectly for both the neck ring and the hair.  The bias tape was such a good idea because not only did it hold the scarf together it also provided firm foundation for sewing the fur to the puppet, without the bias tape the thread could have either pulled through the fleece or the scarf.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

I have been known to cut eyes out of stuffed animals too - but please don't turn me in to the authorities!!

I love turning stuffed animals in to puppets by cutting open the mouth adding a mouth plate, sewing in a body liner, and adding a back or bottom entrance depending on the stuffed animal. A good way to recycle stuffed bears, dogs, etc.

I do the same thing, but if the studded animal would not be a good puppet then I steal it's eyes!!

Like I said, please don't send the authorities after me!  My friends (who are not puppeteers) have told me I have a disease!
Although, I prefer to think that I am giving those stuffed animals a second life - even if it is just their eyes that are being re-born!

The finished second puppet, my wife calls him Zup, as in What'zup?

Bugs Bunny put up a valiant fight, but eventually that wascly wabbit gave up his eyes.  The rest of him will make for some nice puppet stuffing stew.

Zup looks GREAT!!  I will remember to call the insides "stuffing stew" from now on!!
