Hot Glue Gun Tools Posted by Angel in Tx on Oct 17, 2010
I just came across this information. Anybody seen these in stores yet?

They look like they would be wonderful to use - especially the finger tubes. I am always burning my fingers.

FYI - all of these things are already available, though they may not be labeled for hot glue.
1. The mat - I have had a hot glue mat for years (craft stores sell them). The one they show is larger and is..... are you ready for this?Simply a silicone baking pan liner, available at stores that sell cookie sheets.
2. The finger pads. I have disposable finger pads for hot glue that I bought by the box (it's been a while - from I think Joann's). Also - has anyone tried the finger covers you use in office work? Not sure how heat resistant they are.
3. I use glue dots for scrap booking. But again, check the cooking utensils at the dollar store or any utensil store. There are several paddle type heat resistant items. A pot scrapper for instance.
4. The press tool - I have a tool for pushing points in collars and other items you sew that looks like this.

You are right MSpuppet, there are other tools that work just as well! I use some of them too.
This kit is about $20 for all. Just the mat alone at the kitchen store is $20, so all in all it's a good deal.
Only thing... why did it have to be pink? I'd rather have red or green.
