I have a Muppet that was made for me @ FAO Schwarz in Manhattan.  I've lost the rod that operates her arm.  My guess is that if I try to buy one from FAO it'll cost an arm and a leg. (Cripes, they charge $20 just for a bowling shirt for the Muppet.)

Any ideas?

I've just in the past month starting going out w. my Muppet.  Started at an on-location filming of the Rachel Maddow Show.

Not sure what the Muppet Whatnots use but you can use either a dowel rod painted black or piano wire that you get at hardware stores.  Normally you have to go to a mom and pop older hardware store to find it.  Places like Home Depot don't seem to carry it. Some folks use the clear plastic rods that you find on mini blinds.

What kind of rod are you looking for? We sell some with velcro.
Or as Shawn said, you can use a dowel rod and rubber band.
