The new guy...literally Posted by Sverre on Nov 04, 2010
I figured this would be the best place to make my first post. As the subject suggests i am quite new to this site and to puppets in general. My wife is the children's pastor for our church and I have been entrusted with the task of running the puppet program.

While at first I looked at it as just another job that needed doing i have come to enjoy it to an extreme i wasn't expecting. I am now looking to broaden my puppetry horizons. I figured the best place to start would be a place like this. Any tips and hints would be wonderful.

Thanks,
Sverre

Welcome!! My husband and I have directed the puppet program at our church for years. It is GREAT fun but also a lot of work! You will love it! This year we have 14 puppeteers! The most we have EVER had! I am happy to answer any questions but the best way to start is to just jump right in!

Hello Sverre,

Welcome to the forum. I've been directing puppet teams for years and have never gotten over it. Puppets are fun to work and they still impact children, teens, and adults. We did a simple play in Junior Church on Sunday and the children were all focused on what the puppets had to say.

Like the others above, if I can be of help, please don't hesitate to ask.
