I agree, I often try to find a happy medium to adjust between my giants and my dwarves. If there's still a big difference, maybe you can check out One Way Street's foam pads?

They're 2 in thick and very sturdy, I've had mine for a few years and we always let shorter puppeteers use them (plus they're comfy so we use them sometimes too). When we need them to move around a lot we often: cut the pad in half, cover them in duct tape and add straps so they can strap to their feet. Works great
