Helllo from a marionette-maker Posted by amarionette on Jan 10, 2011
:-\I've looked at some of your profile pictures and feel like aa elephant in china and crystal shop. Everybody around has a smooth, soft hand puppet face. I make string puppets of wood.
Anyway, something tells me I will find some friends here...

:)Hello! My name is Piotr. I'm from Poland. I prefer primitive, heavy, folk, string puppets made of pine wood.

If you want to see my work look here

What a beautiful picture and Welcome!

I love marionettes and I have some Pine and Lime (Linden) wood right here ready to carve, I even got a set of chisels for christmas and last year I made friends with Lenka Pavlickova as she has moved to England,.. here is her site.. her marionettes are amazing!

There is very little instruction for wood carving marionettes other than tutorials on puppet sites so if you would like to write a book that would be great!!

I've seen Lenka's work. Masterpieces.
My woodcarving is different, I use only knives instead of gouges and knives. I don't use vice. Instead I just grip wood in left hand or keep it with an elbow. Than I work faster, the item is cheaper, but the work is dangerous - out of any health and safety rules. That's why I'm not a good teacher.
