Attatching feather type hair. Posted by AWS Puppets on Jan 12, 2011
I am having trouble attaching hair to my puppet and was wondering if anbody had any tips for me. I'm using feathers much like the fraggles had for hair and its on a glorified sock type puppet.

Is it feathers or a feather boa? I usually hot glue feather hair to my puppets but can be easily sewn on as well.

If it's a feather boa, they usually have a sort of rope/string that runs through it.  I carefully cut the amount I want (right over a waste receptacle, because those feathers go flying everywhere!) and then mark up the end of the white string/rope running through it with a marker so it matches the color of the boa.  Then I hot glue along the string/rope line--carefully, using not too thick of a line of glue, and holding where the string is to the glue.  Hopefully this all makes sense.

Try this video out!  I watched this the other night... very informative!

"Stiq" is a member somewhere on this forum.  I'm still too new to know exactly where!

Yep I was going to suggest Daryl's video also. That is how I do it.
