I wish I had not stopped for 20 years! You have lots of time! Besides: when you can do stuff like that after no more than 7 months, you must have a LOT of Talent in you! Trust yourself!

I kinda wish I would have discovered this hobby before my 20s.

Ha! Try not getting into it until you're in your 40's! LOL Wish I'd done it sooner too.  But I've always sewn and made things, the skill set was being developed along the way.

You did a wonderful job on him! Fraggles are my very favorite puppets ever. I would love to make one one day. (we had an anime convention thingy here this past weekend too, I plan on make some anime dolls by the time it comes round again, my sons convinced me that I would sell every one since anime is so popular )

Yeah next year I'm going to make some puppets and plushies to sell in artist alley. I was thinking maybe some pokemon and a few Super Mario and Final Fantasy characters. I could even make a few puppet sized characters with a pose-able wire frame inside.

Final Fantasy? I'd love to see them!

Yeah mainly black mages, moogles, and chocobos. I was thinking a pose-able black mage doll would sell well.

I don't think I could do anything as great as yours and I would never think of selling them (I'd need much more quality for that!), but I'd love to do Inu Yasha- Characters... And I will, maybe in the winter.

That reminds me Rikka. Why don't you ever post any pictures of your work? Don't be so shy.
Re: My Fraggles! Posted by Rikka on Jul 08, 2011
Yeah. I restarted my puppet so often... First I tried a clay that wasn't building so well. Then I had immense trouble with the mechanics. Puppets are SO much HARDER to build than dolls! I had to rebuild several times, because I was to ambitious and build way to many joints. The mechanical parts were not so great, eigther. Now the puppet looks almost okay to me (except for the shoulder joints, but I think a costume might do the trick and I know where to make deeper joint socket). I also tried to get a decent sketch of a Faulenzer, but I guess I will just have to build a model from clay. But even as I almost finished my puppet and decided to form this model I got a real bad sting by some kind of insect and my right hand swell double size... I hope everything will be alright by this bl***dy weekend. I am very frustrated. Always something seems to get in my way. I got a feeling that this just shows that I am not determined enough- I let all kinds of things get in my way.
