Hey there again Ben, ill have a think about what suppliers i have found in the UK, but projectpuppet have always sent things to me from the USA, i have never had any problems with them at all, infact the first pattern i bought from Pasha was 'The Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern' and he emailed it to me, so i had it right away and didnt have any P+P to deal with, it is really cheap and a fantastic pattern to get your feet wet with, you may have come up with charectors already, but get ready for those creative juices to start flowing, because as soon as you have made one puppet, you will have tons of charector ideas flooding in. as i said, ill look into what puppet pattern suppliers i have found in the UK, oh wait, www.onewayuk.co.uk have some great stuff too, they are the uk side of onewaystreet's company. im sure ill have more for you soon!!
Ben.

Hmm, just had a look at that site, just looks like a advert site? Surely I could just use google, or have I dont something wrong?!
Okay, really simple question, I had a look at Billys web site, and in his kit he sells white fleece - what is the best way of colouring it?
As far a sewing is concerned - is it best to just sew by hand, or machine?
Thanks for all your help!

Welcome Mujician! I too have patterns available on my site (School of Puppetry, see my sig.) for muppet-types.
Completely off topic, and I'm sorry to drag the thread in this direction:
But can I ask why people always post links to Project Puppet, but never to my site?
I'm not trying to start a war between their products and mine, perfectly happy to share the market. But I'm wondering if my patterns aren't as good, or if I just need to up my marketing... Also the fact that Puppet Smith is likely to be a site which offers pretty much the same, if not more skewed to the 'muppet' side of things, as the free tutorials on School of Puppetry. But I got there first...
(Ok, I know I'm coming off as whiny, but I'm genuinely wondering what the difference is)

oops!! sorry Ben, i think i must have typed the web adress wrong, i know there is a uk base for the onewaystreet puppet company, i obviously have just forgotten the adress!! wherever you get your fleece from, the best way to colour it is to use a decent dye, the USA use RIT dye and the UK generally use DYLON, but i have in the past purchased RIT dyes as they are soooooooo good and some come in liquid form, however to dye fabric to your required colour can sometimes take a bit of a knack and some playing around with scraps of fabric to get right, but dont be afraid, its really quite easy and there are plenty of places on the net showing you how. with regards to sewing, that is a big question, alot of us prefer to mainly hand sew our puppets as it is stronger and you generally can get a better result, but it is slightly tricky ( but you can make the seams invisible with 'the Henson stitch') whereas some like to machine sew everything, places like projectpuppet have two options on thier patterns to allow you to choose what way of sewing you prefer, but to be honest there is no rule on this stuff, its what suits you and if you are new to ALL of this, then the machine might be an easier start, but dont be put off hand sewing cos its a tad more difficult, after all, practice makes perfect and the results will speak for themselves!!

Haha, that's ok. I don't mind really, it's just Project Puppet's one of those 'competitors' that's hard to compete with. If my patterns aren't up to scratch, that I can fix. If there's no way to compare to their already huge marketing... well, there's not much I can do except try harder. I fully expect not everyone has seen the patterns - or used them - I guess I'm just asking the regulars who have.
Thanks for posting the links
(And apologies again to Mujician for the derail)
