Thanks everyone!
Na - The Audrey pic is a room divider a friend gave to me. There are a couple of matching hat boxes on the shelving that are hard to see in the pics.
Rich - My husband framed them out, and the boards are actually bolted into the the wooden beams in the wall. The thread holders are the June Taylor ones, with the legs pushed back. They are made for standing on tables and such. (Amazon link) These go on sale at Joann's about once every three months for around 50% off, so you could get one for around $25 if there's one near you.
For anyone interested, my favorite part of this are the magnets holding all the tools. I found them at Harbor Freight for only $5 each, and they fit the peg board perfectly! The towel dispenser was from Amazon, and I think it was around $2 as well.

What is this word "organize" you are speaking of? I'm not sure I know it...
But hey, I sold 2 puppets, then 6 puppets! So I am in a frenzy making new! I currently have 11 in assembly-line progress. lol I THOUGHT I had to have stock in a month. Unfortunately that conference decided 'no'. So I have until PUPPET COrN in May.

Arthur, is that an Agro puppet on your shelves? or Animal?
Re: Workshop / Storage ideas Posted by ArthurS on Jan 17, 2014
Its Animal. Most are Muppets/Sesame Street.

My brain is so puppet wired...I went back to your photos twice looking for an Audrey puppet from Little Shop of horrors. LOL
Looks good.

I thought it might have been after a second look. It was hard to tell because they both look so alike.

I am so jealous of all of your work spaces and the amount of equipment and materials you have. I currently have a small desk which I share with a computer monitor and some old music gear, one over flowing storage container and a pile of foam in the corner of the room. Any puppet I make is sitting on top of a pile of office stuff and is generally in the way. Well at least all the pics in this thread give me ideas as to what I can aspire towards when I have a bigger house one day.

Wow, I am a bit like ArthurS. My wife´s world is the room above my cave...all books lined up on shelves, all tidy , all organized, all neat...mine is exciting. The sewing machine is 30cm from the computer. patterns are 50 cm to the right of the computer, sharing shelf space with miniature making materials, cloth is in bags in under over around, the place where they fit, depending on how production is going, hair loom is beside sewing machine, hair wefts across the other side of the room... and then most actual construction happens in the patio, where it is a shared flexible space shared with the rest of the family....

Julie - I laughed out loud at what you wrote. It was my first thought too. "Wait, I don't have an Audrey puppet in that picture...oh, WAIT!" rotfl. Great minds!
Arthur - This is similar to what it looked like previous, just spread across half of my house. It's why it took almost three weeks to get it all together. Seriously, it look like someone had robbed us, and ransacked the house. Glad things are going so well with your sales!
Krafty - Before I made puppets, I did all kinds of other projects, including costuming. It's over a decade's worth of accumulation. You will have all this crap, er I mean, equipment...one day as well!
Pagestep - It is obviously working for you, so I say keep it like it is!

Does anyone have any suggestions for cheap ways to store scraps? I have a bag full of fabric scraps and a bag full of paper/cardboard/flat plastic. I'd really like these tubs:
http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/90255898/
But they're a bit too expensive for me to buy 2 of them just for scraps. I have previously used drawers but I'm not a fan of them because the fabric tends to overflow and get stuck in between the drawer and the rest of the compartment. I've thought about using a plastic tub and creating a divider with a piece of large cardboard, but I think that will take up too much space; it will also end up being underneath a stack of other tubs so harder to get at.
What do you guys do for scraps?
I'm going to have a look on Pinterest for some ideas and if I see any I'll post them here too.
