And I can't watch it (this video contains content from WMG and UMG. It is not available in your country.). Not as if that never happend before. Darn.
Re: Falling Automaton Posted by Shawn on Feb 16, 2011
It is hard for me to understand why in this day and age content would be blocked.  What is WMG and UMG?  Is it maybe because there is background music with it?
Re: Falling Automaton Posted by Rikka on Feb 17, 2011
Yeah. I asked my fiancee who's quite up to date with this kind of stuff. He told me that YouTube came to odds with the GEMA (Gesellschaft für musikalische Aufführungs- und Vervielfältigungsrechte, translates to: society for musical performing and mechanical reproduction rights) and would not pay up as it is requested for anyone using GEMA- Music (most labels/ artists who distribiute in Germany contribute to the GEMA which means that whenever you use music on stage in the internet or whereever it is possible for the public to hear it- that also means that they get their share). So YouTube just said: "We won't pay. We'll just block the contents to viewers in Germany".

That is a shame. We have a similar thing here in the states and I am pretty sure that they are paying into that so that artist get paid.

Not the only time I wish I was from Denmark... ;-)
Ah well, since my future father-in-law just started off as a musician, I'll stop nagging about the GEMA.

That's an awesome piece of automata. I've seen some before, but this one is unlike any others! So cool!
