Get off glued parts Posted by trekkiemonster on Feb 21, 2011
Hey, long time no see.
I just noticed that the nose on one of my puppets is off-center and want to correct it but how can I get the nose of without ripping the puppet and ruin it? I used a glue gun with regular melted glue.

Personally I would just call it a character choice. You could try heating up the glue with a hair dryer but you are still going to end up with a sticky mess in the fabric even if you can get the nose off.

........... and to add to what Shawn said. If the nose is off center and you do get it off the glue marks will show when you place it in the center. I would just leave it like it is.

I've found that dried hot glue can be - extremely carefully - removed by using a pair of wire cutters. You can cut away the hot glue until nothing is left. No marks of the glue are left. Of course, this works better on something that isn't fleece or fur, since you will likely make the fleece/fur fluff pill off a little...
