Feather trim/fringe? Posted by CJ Puppets on Mar 21, 2011
Does anyone know where to order feather trim like the stuff used in this video? All I've been able to find is the stuff that has a thick ribbon attaching it and I haven't had any luck using it so my cats got some new toys lol

Daryl had to purchase it on-line.  Not sure which company but you can try the ones listed on Billies site. http://sspuppets.com/resources/puppet-supplies/  This is one of them and they carry it. http://www.featherplace.com/

You want to look for feather fringe.  Trim has the ribbon, Fringe has a small cotton cord.

WOW this stuff is exactly what I wanted, but it's crazy expensive!

Perhaps the feathers with the ribbon are looking more appealing now.   I wonder what would happen if you used ribbon feathers for the under layers and then finished off with the more expensive stuff on the top layer where it would show more.  Also have you tried to dissect the feather trim with the ribbon?

Have you tried using an Ostrich Boa?  You get a lot more for the money buying a boa instead of the fringe. I pay from $26-$40 for a boa (6 foot long).  You can pay more if you get a fuller boa, but for hair the thinner ones work better.
