So excited, on my way to pick up a sewing machine I purchased.  After much research, I bought a Bernina, an older one with an excellent track record. The price included a lot of accessories, which would have cost more than I paid overall.
I wanted one that was not computerized. I have fancier machines for clothing and crafts, but wanted something heavy duty for puppets. One of the White Jeans Machines (all metal) I have used for years is not worth repairing (according to the tech). I did learn that Bernina still makes an all metal, non computerized machine, as well as an industrial machine (the 950, around $2,500 to 3,000).

I'll report back after I use it for a few days.
