Just wanted to say hello to all. I'm new to puppet building and am very excited to continue my new passion. Being an only child, I spent alot of time watching shows like Pufnstuf, Sesame Street, New Zoo Review, The Muppet Show, and even Godzilla, watching and trying to understand how it all worked. I even made the entire cast of the Muppet Show out of paper and tape when I was 6, if I couldn't find it, I made it! But even as a kid I knew I wasn't going to be satisfied until I had my own Kermit! HaHaHa

A few years ago I was looking around on eBay at some puppets for sale, and that's when I started to wonder if I could do one myself. I researched every website I could find, met alot of good people on the way with alot of good advice, took it all in and finally started my new passtime this year. It just came to the point where it was time for me to put up or shut up! My little green monster is my first attempt at puppetry. My hope is to one day be able to make a passable Kermit for myself....

Now I am learning as I go, but loving the journey. And though making a Kermit may seem like a long way down the line until I am sure enough in myself to attempt it, I can't wait to see who I meet, and what I come up with along the way!

Welcome.  Your little guy looks like Elmo's brother or cousin.  Could be an idea where to start with a name.  Good job.  Let us know how we can help.

Seriously, I take that as a compliment, I was testing a pattern for the body and legs for an Elmo puppet when I started this guy. Just planned as a test puppet really, but I didn't have the heart not to finish him. I have a ways to go with the pattern, but just the fact that you can see a resemblance means alot! And I'm sure I'll be in touch.....

Hopefully I can take some better pics of him soon. And right now the runner ups are Oliver, Sheldon, Benni and Patrick.......
