New Zealand based puppet action series - Feedback requested Posted by Hansagan on Apr 01, 2011
Hi All,

Heres a link to part one of a twelve part webseries I'm posting on youtube...I'm pretty passionate about puppets, being a Jim Henson fan from way back, and some of the stuff we tried in this series was pretty ambitious, especially some of the action scenes in Ep 6.

I'd love to get some feedback on the puppetry and the series in general.

Cheers in advance

I really like it. Production value on this series is very good. I went in and watched the original Jungle Fever and the evolution of the project is great! I wish you would number them though... it was a bit hard to determine sequence when looking at the entire series. You have a great team of actors and puppeteers there.

Watched some of your other stuff also.  I like!

I think everyone is qualified to review performances and that it is important to listen to not only those that are skilled in the field but also the general public.  Remember that no matter how much something is liked by your peers, if it does not satisfy the taste of the general public then it is not salable.

Thanks all...our puppeteer was a first timer, and I built the monkey from scratch myself, but it all seemed to come together ok in the end.

I agree with Shawn I can't stress this enough....I have seen amazing puppetry shows and movies with extremely skilled puppeteers and production but the public did not appreciate it so it did not go as far as it should have...you need to meet the general public's interest if you want people to buy into it. (this is not a reflection of the video series just reinforcing what I believe)

The people seemed great performers and I have watched the video you presented and it seemed to have pretty good puppetry. Congrats I hope it goes well for you.

RIDICulous! In a good way. Pacey, well shot.. and the leading lady is gorgeous.. not to mention that handsome monkey! You've clearly put some serious effort in. Glad to see you have it up on Vimeo too.

Really great production, well done!

Er, where's Monkey?  I was expecting him to post something here, he's always around when primates and bananas are being discussed. Lol.
