I had and awful puppet making weekend has this happened to you? Posted by DrPuppet on Apr 12, 2011
OK so i had a plan this past weekend. I would dye the fleece for about 10 puppets then cover the next day. Well several batches of fleece came out marbled and discolored. I spent all of the next day stripping the fleece trying to salvage what i could. It was not a good day. Now the main reason I'm writing this is to ask about pre-dyed fleece from Georgia stage. Has anyone ever used it? I got some recently and that's what i was trying to add additional color too. Now I'm thinking they must have treated it with something because I've never seen fleece resist dye like this before even already dyed material. has anyone else run into this problem or knows if my guess is right?

I've bought from them on a few occasions, but never heard about anything like this before? So sorry to hear about your day....

On a happier note, I think your work is incredible, and a Doctor Who fan to boot...............two pluses in my book!!!

Thanks guys. I was able to recover but it was not easy and a waist of the weekend.

Animal31 thank you for the compliments you're very kind.

Sorry Dr Puppet about the weekend. It seemed to have worked out taking the long way around. However your experience may help with the situation we are in with white Antron fleece.
If any one has the Pre-dye stuff could they try a small sample to dye and see if they have the same issue? It might help with the shortage of the white stuff that everyone and there dog asks me where to get it.  I maybe able to direct them to the Pre-dyed instead as an alternative.
Maybe we need to strip them first then dye?  Is another thought.

Are you talking about the pumpkin or flesh color?
