Another thought on the bleaching process, is that you should really fill your machine with water and bleach before you put the fabric in. You don't want to pour your bleach in on top of the fabric and have it absorb in only one spot.  That is when you really can get damage.  For most this may have been an obvious thing to do but thought that for those who are not used to using bleach even in washing they may not think of that.  It most likely would not hurt to have the fabric wet already instead of putting it in the mix dry.  Same idea as when you are dyeing fabrics.
