I started this project way back in October!
I've been busy and haven't quite completed it yet, nor have I been able to make his mate.

But this is what I've done so far.  I hope to sell them someday.





















I don't like his eyes right now, but I have some others I am going to use like in the 4th picture that I got from Julie at http://www.outoftheboxpuppets.com/.


I used my husband's cowboy boots to make the pattern.  I am really proud that I was able to do that!

I love it!  I have seen shoe puppets, but not a boot.  I can think of so many ways to use this puppet.

Yeah, it's a real cowboy boot. Maybe you should give him a straw to chew on...

Thank you all for the comments!  It's exciting to know that I came up with something original.

Now, do you have any suggestions to make him "cuter"?  I tried eyebrows but they just didn't look right.  MPGrace had suggested a tuft of hair behind the eyes.  I haven't tried that yet either, but it might work.  Anything else?

Do you think these would sell?  I have an idea to make them in blacklight fabrics as this one is but also in tan/brown as in a traditional boot.

I'm sorry to disappoint, but I think... you should leave it as it is! It's cute enough already.

I think they would sell, especially on ebay and especially with blacklight fabrics. You might not sell a lot as compared to human figures, if only because people tend to have less need for abstract/non-human characters. However, I can see people buying them who are of the puppet ministry/One Way Street type.
