EXTRA LARGE EYES - HELP! Posted by Laura Android on May 26, 2011
Hey guys
I need some advice on where to get or how to make extra large half dome eyes. I need something a little bit bigger than the standard Large Half Dome eyes (1 3/4). Any suggestions on materials and how to make a custom eye like that?
Thanks!

We had another request for this just the other day. You can get stryo-foam balls and eggs that are larger and cut them in half then cover in paper mache' or other products to make larger eyes if you can't find some ready made.

Yeah, I did a search but couldn't find anything in the forums. I must have overlooked it cause I just realized there's an advance search. LOL! Do you know what the thread was called?
Thanks for the info! I found these: http://www.sportsballwarehouse.com/2-34-Diameter-Ball-White_p_23.html
Do you think those would work if I sprayed them with a white gloss and cut them in half?
Thanks again for the help! I'm new to this still and get a little flustered on what to do sometimes...LOL!

Yes those would work I think. You might not even need to spray them with white gloss. You could punch or drill small holes at the edge to sew them onto the puppet. You might be able to glue them but surface area available for gluing would be limited I think so they may not stick well with glue.
I couldn't find that thread either... maybe I was dreaming.

You could paint the inside of a clear acrylic dome................sizes. The white sports ball would work also.

Hi,
When looking for some a while back I came across solid wiffle balls on eBay.
You might try there as well......

Great links Billy...super info. I hope you find the right size. It is ball season and the local walmart carries many different size balls.
