Hello everyone here at Puppets and Stuff!
My name is Zach. I'm a rising senior in college, and I recently took a props and puppetry class. This class awaken a love of puppetry in me, and now I'm trying to learn as much as I can about building and operating them.
I can't wait to make my first non-school related puppet!

Interesting how they group props and puppets into one category. Which college is this? It is true though that on many shows out there any puppets end up being the responsibility of the props department and they are often not qualified to handle the job. Kind of nice to hear that there is at least on school out there that is giving some basics in puppet construction.

I go to CSU Chico in Northern California. Sadly, the Props and Puppetry class was a one-time class they were trying out to see what the turn out would be if a class like it was added to the curriculum. It was an amazing class, and I'm glad I was able to take it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have rediscovered my love for puppetry!
Now we're doing Little Shop of Horrors at my school, and I'm gunning for the Props Master position, so at least someone who knows how to deal with puppets will be in charge of them.

Welcome! Both my sons have done a fair amount of puppetry in college and have learned a LOT through all their experiences. One of my sons built and performed Audrey in a college performance of "Little Shop of Horrors"
Can't wait to see all you are going to share with us!!
