Greetings from Indianapolis, IN Posted by mackeymob on May 30, 2011
Hello
A little bit about me. Let’s see,
49 happily married, father of three two of which are serving in the military. My youngest is in collage to be a nurse. Been involved with puppets, off and on for about 10 years.
I have just recently felt to have been lead, in the area of building puppets to send to missionaries.
My endeavor will be called:   Lighthouse Puppets.

I plan on building puppets and sending them to Missionaries working with children.
I am using the Foam Book as kind of a rough guide for building them.

I also plan on selling puppets to area churches to provide funds to make them for the Missionaries. One of the ideas I had was kind of a puppet adoption where a church can adopt a puppet and have it sent to a missionary.

Well that about all for now

God Bless
David

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff! You will certainly find all the help you need here!! I will be eager to see pictures of your puppets and read about where in the world they end up! Instead of "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" it will be "Where in the World are the Lighthouse Puppets?"
Wonderful concept to make puppets available to missionaries. Have you corresponded with One Way Street concerning their ministry 'Ministry Resources International'?
Again WELCOME!

Welcome to puppets and stuff! Great Idea. I have made puppets and raffled them off at my VFW and even was commissioned by a few Vets to make them puppets which they take to Kokomo each year. The Adoption idea is super and I bet every church you contact will take one.

Welcome. Have you looked at OWS adoption program?  They have some great ideas for doing that.
We've been giving puppets to missionaries for years. Having spent some time in Africa on a short term missions assignment,as well as making several missions trips (I met my husband on the 2nd trip I took, 36 years ago), we saw the need was great.  We also have donated to Home Missionaries that do church plants.

The neatest thing... some of the puppets we donated were taken into areas where they would not allow preaching, but allowed puppets to present the gospel!

It's an awesome ministry.
